Benefits of Customized Designs

1. Housing - Heavy gauge construction with stiffening to suite performance requirements. Our housings can be supplied with factory installed insulation clips for on-site application of acoustical or thermal insulation applications.

2. Access Door - Fan housing and inlet boxes can be supplied with a convenient access door. Our access doors come in a variety of styles including bolted, hinged, quick release and raised.

3. Housing Drain - A drain connection with a plug can be configured at the low point of the fan housing or inlet box.

4. Casing Split - The fan housing split can be provided in a number of different configurations, and is dependant on shipping and/or rotor removal requirements.

5. Fan Outlet - The fan outlet can be provided with an evase to reduce outlet velocity and thereby provide static pressure regain.

6. Inlet Box - Each inlet box is designed specified to the performance requirements and ensures an efficient airflow entry with a minimum pressure loss.

7. Inlet Cone - Our streamlined cone designs are specific to the fan type and size and allows efficient entry of the airflow into the fan impeller.

8. Impeller - We utilize various impeller designs which are engineered to meet a specific purpose based on identified client criteria in performance and application. Our designs include airfoil (DIAF), single thickness airfoil (DSTA), backward curved (DBCP), backward inclined (BI), radial tip (DRT), radial shrouded (DRBS) and radial open (DRBO).

9. Liners - Removable, wear resistant liners are available for our fan housings and impellers. These liners are replaceable and are fabricated from wear resistant steel, chromium carbide overlay or tungsten carbide overlay.

10. Shaft Seal - To minimize leakage, our shaft seals are designed to service applications up to a zero leakage rating (when purged with a purging gas). Our standard seal is a plate or lip type, but other seals are available including stuffing box, labyrinth and mechanical carbon ring.

11. Fan Shaft - Daltec customizes the fan shaft for the particular assembly of the unit in question. Shafts are solid or hollow with large diameter shafts stress relieved prior to final machining.

12. Damper - A damper can be outfitted to the inlet boxes or the fan outlet and can be of parallel or opposed blade design. Variable inlet vain type dampers are also available and can be fitted within the inlet boxes or inlet cones. Electric or pneumatic damper actuators can be provided for fully automatic operation.

13. Bearings - Bearing types available include anti-friction ball or roller for grease or oil lubrication methods. Water-cooled journal type bearings can also be provided when required. Temperature and vibration sensing devices can be fitted to the bearing if required.

14. Bearing Pedestals - Designed to suit the bearing type that is utilized in a particular installation. Pedestals are heavy steel fabrications with the top surface machined to ensure a parallel mounting surface.

15. Base - A concrete base and foundation is shown in the figure and Daltec can provide a fully integral fan, motor or bearing base if required. Such a base provides a drop-in assembly and minimizes on-site assembly. The base can be provided as an inertia type to accommodate concrete supplied and poured on-site.

16. Coupling - A number of different types of drive couplings are available including flexible grid, flexible disk and gear types. Each coupling type can be provided with or without spacers.

17. Fan Arrangements - All Daltec's standard fan arrangements are available with single or double width custom designed fans. The most common for these arrangements are 1, 3, 7 and 8. Our direct drive belt drive configuration can also be supplied.

18. Additional Accessories - Other available accessories include intake and discharge silencers, intake filters and weather hoods.
